Amazon 43 Caliber SSR Rubber-Steel Balls Review

$31.50 BUY NOW

The .43 Caliber SSR Rubber-Steel Balls sold on Amazon oftentimes aren’t the first pick for many owners of Less Lethal Launchers. However, rubber-steel projectiles are definitely capable of producing a hard hit of protection when you need it most. The rubber and steel mixture is quite different from what most retailers offer, making “SSR” (the Amazon retailer) the sole provider of what could be a detrimental option for those seeking a precise projectile. In this Amazon 43 Caliber SSR Rubber-Steel Balls Review, we explore the features, performance, and overall user experience of this unique less-lethal projectile.

Key Features:

  1. Design and Construction: The .43 Caliber SSR Rubber-Steel Balls aren’t the most ideal choice when it comes to their design, however, their construction would certainly offer an incredible impact on targets, as you could imagine. The balls have a slightly rough, gritty texture, although we believe if the balls were properly cleaned before use, the texture of them would be much smoother. You can see lines in the balls from the mold, although the line doesn’t protrude.
  2. Caliber and Ammunition: The .43 Caliber SSR Rubber-Steel Balls are .43 caliber, capable of launching from .43 caliber less lethal launchers. These less-lethal projectiles are made from a 50/50 mixture of rubber and steel powder, making them an excellent option for detouring the opposition. For training, you will not be able to reuse the projectiles, unfortunately. On impact, the ball receives a violent shock, slightly deforming the ball.
  3. Perfect Fitment: The .43 Caliber SSR Rubber-Steel Balls were made specifically for less lethal launchers, including the T4E Glock 17. While the retailer claims a good fitment in the Glock 17, we’ve been using the projectiles in the T4E Walther PPQ M2 and haven’t noticed an issue, aside from the last round, which could be caused by the launcher itself. This is undetermined.
  4. Precision: While using the .43 Caliber SSR Rubber-Steel Balls, we’ve become quite aware of the precision that they offer. Each shot from roughly 35-40 yards delivered precise shots, hitting small targets with ease. We were definitely impressed with this aspect of the projectiles.

Performance and Shooting Experience:

The .43 Caliber SSR Rubber-Steel Balls from Amazon definitely offered a pleasing experience for training. One shot after another, we were able to perfectly hit our target with incredible precision. The shots were hard-hitting, easily penetrating cardboard boxes and sheetrock from a sizeable distance.

With its 43 caliber size and low weight, I would imagine that getting hit by one of them would be painful, but not enough to drop someone. The balls are slightly soft due to the rubber mixture, yet are more weighted than your standard rubber projectile. If anything, they’re perfect for training.

Reliability:

While we personally wouldn’t mark the .43 Caliber SSR Rubber-Steel Balls as the most reliable option, they definitely produce a hard hit. Where we have a concern as far as reliability is the texture of the projectiles, their size, and their weight. There are much better options in terms of reliability that can be found on Amazon at an even lower price.

Versatility and Training Benefits:

As mentioned, when it comes to training, specifically, the .43 Caliber SSR Rubber-Steel Balls are a nice option to consider. However, there are many other options available on Amazon that can be reused. At roughly .33-cent per projectile, it is highly likely that we wouldn’t purchase them again since they do become deformed after the first and only use. Their remarkable precision isn’t enough to turn us into repeat buyers, unfortunately.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, the .43 Caliber SSR Rubber-Steel Balls offered a great experience for the time we’ve used them. Although they wouldn’t be our first pick from what Amazon has to offer, we aren’t totally dissatisfied with our purchase. From the precise shots to the hard hits during training, we enjoyed our time. What it ultimately comes down to is that even though the projectiles aren’t the worst option to consider, they didn’t offer enough to keep us returning, and we’re sure you’ll come to the same conclusion as well.

43 Caliber SSR Rubber-Steel Balls

While we found that the .43 Caliber SSR Rubber-Steel Balls offered laser precision and hard hits to our targets, the concern for reliability, not being able to reuse the projectiles, and a combination of their size, weight, and price leads us to share a review that wasn’t in SSR’s favor.
